Introduces Israel's oppression in Egypt, God's call of Moses, and the beginning of His plan to deliver His people and fulfill His covenant promises.

Exodus 1–6 marks the beginning of God’s great work of redemption for the nation of Israel. As the Israelites multiply in Egypt, a new Pharaoh enslaves them and seeks to destroy them out of fear. In response to their cries, God raises up Moses, preserving his life from infancy, preparing him through years in the wilderness, and calling him at the burning bush to lead His people to freedom. Although Moses initially struggles with doubt and Pharaoh refuses to release the Israelites, God reassures Moses by revealing His name, reaffirming His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and promising to redeem His people with His mighty power. These chapters lay the foundation for the Exodus by revealing God’s faithfulness, His compassion for the oppressed, and His commitment to keep His promises.
