As we begin the start through our sessions with “Don’t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table” by Louie Giglio, we will lay the foundation for the need and our own experiences.
The uncomfortable situation that we probably have all been faced with is when someone joins us uninvited. Whether it is a dinner party, a night out or an organized celebration, we most likely have had “those people” that just seem to appear, but how did they get there?
Do you have any experiences with uninvited guests? Maybe not directly, but have you experienced situations where there were uninvited guests? How was it handled?
How about spiritually? Have you had thoughts, ideas or even words that you received. We know that many times what we receive is not always healthy. Whether it is from someone we know, or a complete stranger, the uninvited impact can be damaging. If it is spiritual it can even be more painful and unrelenting.
Getting those uninvited notions is one thing, the painful and damaging situation is when we soak in them or even worse, engage and entertain them.
Can you recall a time when you engaged and entertained uninvited thoughts, ideas or words?
This painful situation is the overall premise of our book. Let’s dive in and read through chapters 1 and 2 to get us started… Next week we will see what we can surely relate to.
