As we go into the next reading assignment, we get hit right in the face with another challenging topic.
Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20
Somewhere along the way, the command to his followers has slipped away to direction for “those people”. But where did we get that? This week we read through: Part I: Living as a Disciple Maker, 2: The Command to Make Disciples
We will be reading pages 27-38 and answer the questions 1 – 8.
As I encouraged you last week, read the section first, all the way through, then go back and read it again and answer the questions along the way. Or even answer one question a day this week. Do it in the morning and then contemplate that question through the day. Even if you make it through the reading and questions rapidly, don’t just put the book down. Pray for the Holy Spirit to show you more. To explain things for you. To give you courage to stay involved. Don’t check out. This study is for you.
