After stepping out of denial last Saturday, we move into a rhythm. Some of us have an extra day off work, others no school, and yet others will find time to get their reading and questions done.

This weeks assignment:

• Read chapter 2
• Answer questions in the study guide for “2. True Son of a True Father”

I know one thought that chapter 2 brought out was….

How a bulk of my life has been about “striving and indulging”

Seems kind of blatant, but when I pause and face the truth of my life, more of it is true than not.

Striving and Indulging. Pushing myself hard to excel, taking on the battles that come to me with determination but also with a fear-based drivenness, believing deep down inside that there is no one I can trust to come through for me. Then, arranging for little pleasures along the way to help ease the pain of the drivenness and loneliness. A fatherless way to live.s
