We had a great week reading and discovering about the beginning of the story. Our story.  There was a lot of great discussions around the garden and the original temptations and the exile out of the garden.

This week we go from Adam and Eve into the stories about Abraham. The era or time of Abraham is sometimes called the “Patriarchs”.  The covenant between God and Abraham was estimated to be around 1870 BC.

I also find it amazing that we can read about things from thousands of years ago, yet we can see some historical sites still around today. Check out this photo of an ancient city referred to in Hebrews chapter 11, but it is referring to this ancient city in Genesis 14.

Before David captured this small hill in the center of the photo from the Jebusites and accordingly called Jebus, the city is referenced in Genesis 14 as Salem, translated as peace.

Covenant

In this weeks reading and discussions we will continuously refer to and learn about the word covenant. We don’t use that term much today, but what does it mean?

Faith

Now the legendary term, Faith. We all have our thoughts and have used the word probably thousands of times.  Francis has a great analogy of shooting a balloon with a BB gun in the video below, but what are some other examples that you have been taught? Or how were you described what faith is?
