None of us is better than all of us!

Watch out! Don’t let your hearts be dulled by carousing and drunkenness, and by the worries of this life. Don’t let that day catch you unaware, like a trap. For that day will come upon everyone living on the earth. Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be strong enough to escape these coming horrors and stand before the Son of Man. – Luke 21:34-36

We can easily let our hearts become dull. So quickly we quote “iron sharpens iron”, but realistically, we don’t like being sharpened. Many times it is painful to get the rough edges knocked off. We say we want discipleship, we say we are in community, but when the focus shifts to us, we get a bit nervous.  We don’t mind coming along someone else that is having “issues”, but when we are the one that is getting talked to we quickly “batten down the hatches”. We don’t want to get hurt and of course every thing we do and say is justified. DON’T BELIEVE THE LIE.

All of us fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) and we are NOT always right. We need to own up to our behaviors and from time to time we do need to be talked to. We need a friend that is caring enough to come over and assist us in the battle.  Don’t let your pride isolate or keep the thought you get in made by yourself. That is NOT in the bible.

Brothers, if a person is caught doing something wrong, those of you who are spiritual should restore that person gently. Watch out for yourself so that you are not tempted as well. – Galatians 6:1

Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. – Proverbs 27:17
